Der Falke und Sein Furher
The Hawk screeches the name,
of this insidious game.
He jumps, floats, then soars
with indisputable scores.
In helter-skelter paths.
Reigning down with wrath.
His master at the helm.
Domination this realm
of his own fantasy.
Face shining with glee
Below the peasants scream,
“Please end his regime!”
One by one they die.
In shallow graves they lie.
The only path to peace
starts when life does cease.
On earth they are dammed
to lead lives planned.
The Mad Scientist
There once was a man
Who wanted to go to space.
So he blasted off for his journey
And he left the horrible place
He had lived on Earth
For all of his years
But he wanted to explore
So he threw away his fears
His friends said he was crazy
And some said he was wrong
But to him the insults
Played a beautiful song
Up, up, and away he sailed
Flying higher evermore
Once he reached his destination
What he saw he couldn't implore
This new world was amazing
And soon he became consumed
But the smart young man
Knew Earth had been doomed
The people lost their individuality
While he was living his fantasy
He knew what the others did not
He knew his mind held the key
*dedicated to Zach Dunstan who’s story has been told
A Sinner’s Creed
Now I lay my head down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
Who am I kidding though?
God won’t save me, no
All the sins I’ve committed
All the evil I’ve permitted
They’re all far to great
To get me in that golden gate.
Waiting for me is a special throne
Lucifer calls me his own
Today marks the end
I’ve made that one fatal sin
Poor dame didn’t know it was coming.
The pain I caused must be numbing.
If Dante had known about mine
He’d place me down in circle nine.
One day I’ll be shaking hands
In the spot Brutus now stands.
If I could do it all again
I’d take back that horrible sin
Forever now I’ll have to live
And she should never forgive
Monsters like me, we should die
We are the worst kind of guys
Everyone is bound to make mistakes
Mine deserves to be burned at the stake.
If God could forgive everything I did
I’d gleam with the joy of a kid
Baby I need to apologize,
Don’t think it was all lies.
Flight 420
Would you fly away with me?
To the land of the free
Before we lose ourselves
Let’s travel to other realms.
Only to lose each other,
But I’ll still be your lover.
The Siren’s Call
Twisting, turning
Winding, writhing
My mind wonders
In circles of confusion.
The feeling of losing.
I am sinking, sliding
Diving, dying
In a sea of doubt.
Arms flailing, screams wailing,
The war is lost
I lose what I’ve sought
The slow retreat
I couldn't compete
Tears roll, I pay the toll
I sit at home
Thoughts nostalgic
The clock ticks
Remembering remorsefully
Hurting hopefully
I prepare for round two
I’ll see my enemy soon.
Mr. Jekyll, and Dr. Hyde
Does it bed in the brain?
The feeling is the same
Poison in my blood
Feet sinking in mud
Personality slips away
The soul has gone to play
With souls of the helpless
Our bodies under arrest
There’s no chance against
Surviving the demon’s nest
Once you've arrived,
There’s no chance to fight.
The Dungeon
Take a walk down the stairs.
“creak, creak” the sound.
At the bottom you’ll find my lair
Just don’t look around
Because, I’ll show you the truth
Keep up, don’t get confused.
Your mind holds the key
Turn it and you’ll unlock
The box that keeps it from being free
But you won’t get past the meant block
God won’t save you here.
Your savior is in your mind.
But baby don’t have any fear
You aren’t the only one blind.
The Funeral
The fog is surrounding you
Feel yourself be consumed
Look up, you see a light
You just lost the fight
Its time to make like Jim
Because you know you’re on the brim
Now break on through to the other side
You’ll be amazed by the peace you find
Now you can finally find yourself.
No one knows about the wealth
Awaiting us through the haze
But, never will it be the craze
Because we will always be afraid
Don’t worry about the mess you’ve made.
For the memories you leave
Will help them to grieve.
The Sands Inside the Locket.
They say love finds a way.
Yet, among the best it still fades.
The sand slowly slithers
to the bottom of Love’s glass.
In despair, the more I fight,
the faster our love will fly.
Until the grain rests--
At last.
